Krista LaBella is a multi-media artist who embraces the voluptuous, fat, female body.

Krista received her BFA in sculpture with a minor in art history from Hartford Art School in 2010 and her MFA from Pratt Institute in 2014. In 2014 she also received her first considerable honor, an Upstart Award from the online women’s magazine Bustle, in which she was recognized as an emerging female artist with the potential to be one of the “driving forces of culture over the next 10 years.” Additionally, she had the opportunity to experience a studio visit with feminist artist Judith Bernstein, whose conversation and critique encouraged her “I am Venus” series.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries across the United States.

She currently lives and maintains a studio in Brooklyn, NY.
