Pussy Pops
Pussy Pops
white chocolate, lollipop sticks, styrofoam, red food color
2013

This is an interactive sculpture created from chocolate. I have created lollipops in the form of a vagina which the viewer is asked to participate in eating. Although this work is silly, generating discomfort or laughs by the participants, it is meant to put female sexuality on a pedestal. This references the way our culture turns sex into a commodity as the lollipops are resting in a display stand. The use of chocolate too is important. The luscious, rich, overindulgence associated with chocolate can also be applied to the female body within American media and culture.
